Gov. Weeks speaking at the honoring program of retired senior executives

MONROVIA – December 29, 2016:  The Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) Wednesday, December 28, 2016, honored three of its senior executives who have been retired following long years of services to the CBL. Those honored were Mr. Joseph C. N. Howard, Acting Head of the Microfinance & Financial Inclusion Unit; Mr. Richard A. Dorley, Senior Advisor to the Executive Governor on Multilateral Relations; and Mrs. D. Sheba Brown, Director of Administration.

 

Speaking at the program, the Executive Governor of the CBL, Mr. Milton A. Weeks, praised the honorees for their dedication and commitment to duty over the years. Mr. Weeks lauded the retiring long service executives for their honesty, perseverance and hard work during their tenure at the CBL, and urged others, particularly the youth to emulate their good examples.  The honorees, he noted have demonstrated how it should be done, ‘that you can live a full life and be respected and looked up to, without having to do anything that you don’t have to do.”

 

In separate congratulatory retirement letters to the honorees , Mr. Weeks, on behalf of the Board of Governors and staff of the CBL,  spoke of the dedicated, respected and important roles each honoree has played within the CBL family and conveyed the institution’s best wishes for a ‘happy, healthy and blissful retirement life.’  “You have dedicated yourself to the Central Bank and established an excellent name and reputation in the Liberian banking sector,” the CBL Executive Governor told the honorees, whom he said have left behind a legacy that will be cherished by upcoming employees and staff members of the bank, adding, ‘time spent with you was indeed, a valuable time, and we’re surely going to miss your wise counsel of advice.”

 

The honorees thanked the Board of Governors, management and staff of the bank for the honor bestowed upon them. They spoke of the fond memories of service at the CBL and said they would continue to cherish those memories. The retirees expressed their willingness to offer to the bank whatever services that may be needed if called upon to do so. 

 

Other speakers at the occasion were the Deputy Governor for Economic Policy, Dr. Mounir Siaply; the Deputy Governor for Operations, Mr. Charles E. Sirleaf; and the Minister of Finance & Development Planning, Mr. Boima Kamara. They also praised the retirees for their selfless services to the banking sector and country and wish them well.
