The Multilateral Relations Office is responsible to coordinate and communicate with bilateral and /or multilateral institutions on social, political, economic, and financial issues in relations to the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), the Government of Liberia’s (GoL) related functionaries, and with institutions within the country and the outside world.

This Office reports to the Executive Governor of the Bank. Within the Bank, the Multilateral Relations Office liaises closely with the directors of departments and/or heads of sections in the coordination of activities within the Bank relative to issues on bilateral and/or multilateral relations. The Office is responsible for CBL’s participation/involvement in the activities of any or all multilateral institutions and ensure that maximum benefits are gained through its membership.   

The Office manages CBL’s relationship with the following institutions: African Union (AU), ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States), UNECA (United Nations Economic Commission for Africa), MRU (Mano River Union), AfDB (African Development Bank), AACB (Association of African Central Banks), WAMI (West African Monetary Institute), WAMA (West African Monetary Authority), WAIFEM (West African Institute for Financial & Economic Management), AFREXIM (African Export Import) Bank, ITU, IMF (International Monetary Fund) and WBG (World Bank Group).
