Vacancy - Technical Support Network Engineer
The Central Bank of Liberia is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications from interested, qualified and desirous individuals for the position of Technical Support Engineer in its Management Information Systems Section. The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to focus on the installation and configuration of the Payment System’s Infrastructure in collaboration with selected vendors. Technical support may range from testing and troubleshooting installation and configuration problems to monitoring and maintenance of various infrastructures across various platforms.
Responsibilities
The incumbent is required to perform the following tasks:
? Installation and configuration of servers and server operating systems using the Windows and Linux technology platforms; Knowledge of other operating systems environment is an added advantage.
? Installation and configuration of Internet protocols including TCP/IP configurations, DNS, SNMP, IP, TELNET, SMTP, HTTP, DHCP, etc.
? Network troubleshooting, network monitoring, networking protocols, Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), etc.
? Plan and design network cable management, trunks, installation and configuration of network nodes, etc.
? Provide routing and switching support using Cisco tools and equipment;
? Provide technical support to VPN and Voice Services to include the provision, monitoring and management of methods for remote users and guests to securely connect to the corporate network.
? Provide support, monitoring and maintenance of communication equipment to include switches, routers, firewalls, etc.
? Provide support for the monitoring and analysis of packets traversing communications equipment and nodes to reduce latency and maximize bandwidth utilization.
Qualification:
· The incumbent MUST have a valid CCNA Certificate (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and must provide proof of certification. Possession of CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) is an added advantage.
· The incumbent MUST have excellent understanding of LAN, WAN and Wireless Networking technologies
· The incumbent MUST demonstrate adequate knowledge in working with Windows and Linux Server environments. Possession of MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or MCITP (Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional) is an added advantage
· The incumbent MUST have network infrastructure design and implementation experience
· The incumbent MUST have excellent analytical skills to provide swift diagnoses of problems
· The incumbent must have excellent customer care and communication skills, and an awareness of the varying levels of their clients’ technical competency
· The incumbent must be able to appreciate the pressures clients may be under if they are trying to complete professional assignments whilst struggling with malfunctioning equipment.
· A bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline from a recognized institution will be an added advantage
· Must be able to lift 50 - 75 lbs
